Concept: An orphan witnesses a murder which leads him running for his life into the waiting arms of a vampire woman who collects children.

Summary: A young man named, Kenny, has a troubled past. His mother and sister were mysteriously killed a year before the story begins. This has left him destitute and living on the streets. To survive, he works as a gofer for local gangland hoods. During a delivery he witness a murder committed by Magpie, a French-African drug dealer. Magpie sends his men after Kenny and the toddler that Kenny is baby-sitting for Wanda, a local prostitute. When the toddler, Billy, is shot, Kenny has no choice but to take him to the local children's shelter. Unbeknownst to Kenny, the shelter has been taken over by a vampire woman. All the children there have been transformed into vampires and before long, Kenny is bitten as well.

Though Kenny may not be aware of his impending transformation, he does not have much time before he loses his humanity. To make matters worse, Magpie has not finished with him yet and sends more men to find him and Billy before they can talk. Magpie's men are easy for Lili to dispatch, but Magpie has experience with the occult and knows what she is. Unlike his men, he knows how to kill a vampire and has the murderous disposition to do it.

Of course Lili has a secret of her own. Her hellish haven is not as secure as she might like to think. Her previous master, Sandor (pronounced Shawn-door) has found her again and plans to reclaim her and eliminate her children along the way. The action rises to a boiling point when Kenny must fight to protect those he loves and escape not only with his life, but with his soul.
